My summer is quickly winding down, and it has made me one busy person!
First of all, not much to report on pregnancy, which is good at this point! I went to the doctor this past week, and everything is looking good! I had a sonogram, and the baby looks great! I turned 35 weeks yesterday, and I am still feeling pretty good. I am tired and starting to ache some, but besides that I am great! I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks. I will be right at 37 weeks when I go back!
I can't believe how close it's getting! We have been so busy trying to get everything ready. We switched Ava to a toddler bed in a new room, and the transition has been SO smooth....praise the Lord! The nursery is slowly getting there, but I feel like I still have a lot to do to get it ready. I am just trying to take it one day at a time!
I have also been trying to get my plans done for my maternity leave. I found out this past week that I am going to have an AWESOME sub in my room, and that makes me feel SO good! I am hoping to get the basic plans done by tomorrow, and add a little more detail as needed next week. Speaking of next week, I can't believe I go back to school MONDAY. The summer has gone so fast. The students do not come in until the 9th, so that is good that I have a little more time to prepare for them.
I just wanted to give an update on what's going on with us. I will try my best to do better with updating a little more frequently. I want to be able to look back at the blog in the future to help me remember! :)
Have a great weekend!

30 Week and 31 Week Update
It's been awhile! We were out of town last week, and this is my first chance to really get to post. I figured I might as well just combine my 30 and 31 week update.
Everything is going great. My c-section is scheduled for August 25th (8 weeks from yesterday). I am feeling great, and I have been loving the fact that it has been a little cooler this week.
I am trying not to stress out about the fact that we have SO much to get done....my summer break is sneaking away from me, and I hoped to have a lot marked off my "to-do" list before school starts for me on August 2nd-I am not sure that's going to happen though.
Originally, we were going to keep Ava in her crib and buy a new one for the baby. HOWEVER, she is about to the point where she can climb out of her crib, so we figured it would just be safer to go ahead and switch her to a toddler bed. I ordered it yesterday, and it should be in the next couple of weeks. She will be switching beds and rooms. We plan to go ahead and make this transition as soon as the bed comes in. The baby will just use the crib Ava is in now, and the nursery will stay where it is. However, I did get the baby new bedding so I will be decorating the nursery just a little different than it is now. I think that will actually cut down on some of the work we were going to have to do, though.
I have also got to get in my classroom in the next couple of weeks. I want to get it ready as soon as possible so I won't have to worry about that later. I WILL go back to school the first few weeks...I will probably work up until I have the baby. I want to have as much time at home with the new baby as possible. :)
SO much going on, but it's all so exciting at the same time!!!

Oops
That last post messed up a little...Ignore the 26 week post right under it! :) I am sure there is a way to edit it and fix it, but time is not allowing for that right now! Have a great weekend!
Busy Weekend and 29 Week Update
Hey Everyone!
I am gearing up for a super busy weekend, but thought I would take a minute to give a quick update. We are leaving after lunch to go to North Mississippi for my niece's wedding (She is 22--my brother is WAY older than me! :)) We have rehearsal and dinner tonight, a bridesmaids brunch in the morning, a picnic at noon, and the wedding at 6 tomorrow night. After the wedding, we will head on back to Brandon--Keith has to preach both services, and our nephew is getting baptized at the 8:20 service. After church, we will be heading out to the beach for a week--so exciting! :)
I turned 29 weeks yesterday! Everything is going great. My only real complaint is that I am hot! I hate to know how hot it's going be in August--haha.
How far along? 27 weeks
Total Weight Gain? not sure but will find out next week at my doctor's appointment!
Maternity Clothes? Sill ok with them :)
Stretch Marks? None
Sleep? Ok. I have been really tired lately, so sleep has come pretty easily.
Best Moment This Week? Just feeling her move A LOT!
Movement: See Above...
Food Cravings: Still Snow Cones
Gender: GIRL!!!
Belly Button in or out? Still in
What I Miss? Caffiene...I have not given it up completely, but I am trying to drink it in moderation...I miss getting a sweet tea or Dr. Pepper whenever I want
What I am Looking Forward To? My ultrasound next week
More posts on what we've been up to lately coming very soon! We've had a busy but super fun summer so far!

26 Weeks
I am 26 weeks pregnant today! To say this pregnancy has gone by quickly would be an understatement. I am sure it will go even quicker now that school is out for the summer (yay!).
I went to the doctor today for my glucose screening, and I passed! So glad! My doctor's appointments are now 2 weeks apart. Next time I get to have an ultrasound...so exciting! My doctor also gave me a date for my c-section---August 25th.
Right now, my plan is to go back to school the first few weeks (teachers start back August 2nd). Hopefully that will work out...I want to work as long as I can the weeks leading up to having this baby so I can be home with her as long as possible.
Anyway, here is a survey I would like to start doing each week for the remainder of this pregnancy:
How far along? 29 weeks
Total Weight Gain? around 10 pounds.
Maternity Clothes? Still not minding them, but I am a little anxious to be able to buy regular clothes again. AND I am a little disgusted at how much maternity clothes cost....good grief! :)
Stretch Marks? none
Sleep? Ok...some nights are better than others.
Best Moment This Week? Not really pregnancy related, but getting to go to the beach!
Movement: Lots and Lots! Love it!
Food Cravings: Anything sweet, which is completely unlike me. I am usually not a huge fan of a lot of sweets, but right now I can't get enough of them.
Gender: Girl!
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but I think it's about to pop out.
What I Miss? Coffee lately--I am really craving some Starbucks!
What I am Looking Forward To? Working on the nursery

28 Weeks
I am sorry I am so late with this post, but I was out of town over the weekend, and I am just now having a chance to post.
I turned 28 weeks last Thursday. I actually had a doctor's appointment that day along with a sonogram. Everything looked GREAT on the sonogram, and the baby is measuring right on time! :)
I got fussed at a little, though, because I am not gaining enough weight. I am not sure why--I eat all of the time. My doctor told me to drink a milkshake a day so I am going to try that and hopefully I will start gaining a little more weight.
Besides that, things are going perfect! :) I am going to skip the survey this week, but I still just wanted to give a quick update. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Our Summer So Far!
We have had a busy first week of summer! It has been fun, though! I should probably should make this several posts, but I will try to fit it all in this post.
Last Sunday afternoon, we decided to take Ava to the local splash park. I wish I had pictures...she had SO much fun! She was REALLY upset when we left...poor thing. Her favorite thing was going down the little water slide. HOWEVER, several little boys who were a good bit older than her kept cutting in front of her in line to go down the slide. :( And she was standing in line so nicely! Besides that, we had a GREAT time, and we will be returning in the near future. Our little girl loves anything to do with water!
Keith's sister and her husband wanted to go to Ship Island Monday for Memorial Day. We agreed to go with them. However, after lots of consideration, we thought it would be better not to take Ava all the way out to the island (especially in the middle of her normal napping time). We just rode down there with them and did things around Gulfport and Biloxi.
We tried to go eat lunch, which was a disaster. We ordered milk for Ava, and they brought it out in a plastic cup with a top for a straw. If she ever sees one of these cups, that is all she wants to drink out of...The only problem is that she does not understand that she can't turn the cup upside down while drinking out of a straw without milk spilling everywhere. We try to help her with this and show her how to hold it upright, but it just frustrates her. She screamed and was just really loud. Keith and I took turns taking her outside, but Keith finally came back in and told me that we probably needed to get "to go" boxes and eat in the van, so that's what we did. Ava is getting really hard to eat out with which makes me sad because I love eating out. Anyway, that's a different post for a different day!
After eating, we thought Ava might be sleeping so we rode along the beach while she slept. We decided to finally pull into the mall parking lot and just park because we were tired of driving to let her finish her nap. She woke up about the time we parked, so we decided to go in the mall for a while. After shopping for a while, we stopped at the pretzel place in the mall for a snack-I LOVE that place!
When we left the mall, we decided to take Ava to a park we had seen while riding around earlier. She had so much fun at the park, and we stayed about an hour. It was just SO hot! This was probably Ava's favorite part of the day! :)
Keith's sister called about the time we were leaving to tell us that they were on the boat and about to be heading back to Gulfport (the boat ride takes about an hour), so we went to a little souvenier shop while we waited on them.
We got back to Brandon that night at about 10:30 and went straight to bed. We were so tired after a long (but fun) day!
I had to go to the doctor unexpectedly Tuesday, so Ava went to "school." I felt bad taking her because I KNOW she had to be tired after the long day Monday. Everything is fine with the baby and me. I had this spot pop up on the back of my leg that was EXTREMELY painful and a little discolored. Of course (me being the paranoid person I am) I got into my head that I had been bitten by a brown recluse. I looked up pictures of bites, and that is exactly what mine looked like. I called my OB, and she told me to come in so they could look at it. I won't go into detail, but whatever it was turned into an infection, so I had to get it drained, and they put me on an antibiotic. She said the infection could be caused by a spider bite, but she couldn't really tell what caused it. She listened to the baby's heartbeat, and she is doing just fine! I am feeling MUCH better now--it's not near as painful! :) I go back to the doctor next Thursday for my regular 28 week appointment where I will get to have an ultrasound--yay!
Wednesday was a pretty laid back day. I started getting caught up on laundry, and Ava and I just played all day! It was so much fun being home just the two of us! I look forward to many more days like that this summer. I had Bible Study that night, so she and Keith got to spend some quality time together then!
Thursday we stayed home all morning. After Ava's nap, we went to story time at the local library! She LOVED it, and had a great time. Again, she cried when we left, but that just means she had fun. We will definitely be going back to that a good bit this summer!
So...that's what we've been up to since school has been out! I am excited to see what the rest of the summer has in store for us.
