We had a really busy week this week. We had a lot of fun things planned, too! It's just getting so busy the closer it gets to Christmas....That's ok, though, because I love to be busy.
Sunday: We got up and got ready for church. Church was really good. We went out to eat at the Country Club after church. Their Sunday lunch is always so good! They have a buffet full of vegetables, fried chicken, and wonderful desserts! We came home and put the girls down for rest time. I didn't get to go to the grocery store this day because the child had their Christmas program that night and had to be at the church by 4:30. My parents were coming down for the program. They got here at about 3:30. We visited a while until it was time to take the kids to church. At 6:00, my parents and I went over to the church for the program. It was really good, and we enjoyed it. We came home and had chicken chili that that I had in the crockpot. Keith had choir practice at the Baptist church, so I gave the girls baths and put them to bed. I went to bed not too long after Keith got home.
Monday: We got up early and got ready for school. Monday was a pretty uneventful day at school (besides the fact that it was a Monday and Mondays are always so busy and hectic). I picked the girls up from my mother-in-law's house after school. We came home, and I got dinner ready. After we ate, we gave the girls baths. They had a little play time before it was time to go to bed. I watched a little tv after they went to bed. We went to bed not long after.
Tuesday: We got up and got ready for school. After I dropped the girls off at their school, I headed on in to work. It was going to be a busy day because my assistant was out, and I was there by myself. I have never had an assistant before teaching at the school I am at now, but it makes a HUGE difference! The kids are used to having two adults in the room, and it's just hard when one of us is out. We made it, though! The kids are wound up because they are ready to be our for Christmas Break, but that's just how it is when you teach first grade! It also didn't help that we were stuck inside because it was rainy. After school, I picked up the girls so we could get home and get Ava ready for dance. Keith took her to dance for me. Kate Rivers and I just stayed home and hung out. We ate dinner after Keith and Ava got home. After dinner, the girls had some play time. We then gave them baths and put them to bed. We just hung out until time to go to bed.
Wednesday: This was actually a pretty uneventful day. We went to school. I got a lot accomplished with my class. After school, we came home. Keith had an event to go to in town. The girls and I just stayed home. We ate dinner, played, and then they got baths. Keith had choir practice again at the Baptist church that night. I put the girls to bed and waited on him to get home. We visited for a while before time to go to bed.
Thursday: This was my Friday at work...yay! I had taken the next day off to go Christmas shopping. This day was kind of stressful at school. We went over to the auditorium for the 2nd grade program at 10. This kind of threw the kids off since it was something different so they were WILD for the rest of the day. It was still too wet to go outside, and that throws them off (even on a normal day). After school, we rushed home. We had a friend from church who agreed to keep the girls so Keith and I could go to Jackson to the Clergy/Spouse Christmas Dinner. We dropped the girls off and headed to Jackson. We really enjoyed the dinner! Once we got back to town, we picked the girls up and came home. We then gave them baths and put them to bed. We went to bed not long after them.
Friday: We slept in a little later this day than normal (since I was off and Keith always takes Fridays off). Once we got up, we got the girls ready and took them to school so we could at least make a good dent in our Christmas shopping. We had SUCH a fun day....we love our girls to death, but it's so nice to just get a way for a day sometimes. The first stop we made was Target. We ended up buying most of our stuff there. However, there were a few things we couldn't find at Target, so we had to go to Walmart. We found what we needed in Walmart. We also saw a few people we knew, so we visited with them for a few minutes. After Walmart, Keith wanted to run to cSpire so see about upgrading his phone. After that, it was lunchtime. We had lunch at Logan's. We had a really good lunch, but they were running sooo behind. It was ok, though, because we weren't in a huge hurry. After lunch, we were done with our shopping for the day, so we decided to head to a movie. We went to see Breaking Dawn: Part 2. I wasn't that crazy about it. It was just ok to me. I think they should of just made Breaking Dawn one movie, but that's just me. After the movie, we went to Keith's mom's house to pick up the girls. We had to pick them up quickly because Ava's dance class was performing at the nursing home that night. We came straight home to get ready for the performance. The girls did GREAT!! After that, we came home, gave them baths, and put them to bed. We went to bed not too long after.
Saturday: This was another fun day. The girls and I got up and got ready to go to my parents' house for the night. Keith couldn't go with us because he had his first night of the Christmas Cantata, and he had church Sunday morning. Soon after we got to my parents house, we all loaded up to go visit my aunt who lives about an hour from my parents. Her town has the best fish house, so we ordered fish to eat for dinner. It was so good, and the company was even better. After dinner, my parents, the girls, and I loaded up to go back to my parents' house for the night! When we got back to their house, we got ready for bed.
*This next week looks like it's going to be just as busy! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Our Week: November 25, 2012-December 1, 2012
I got no comments on my last few posts, so I think all of my readers have disappeared since I went MIA for so long! That's ok---I am bound and determined to keep this blog going this time! :)
I have seen several people do week in review posts and I think that's something I am going to try. I think it will be fun to go back and look at in the future! I am going to try to do Sunday-Saturday....
This week was a pretty busy week. It was our first week back at school since Thanksgiving Break, and it was just hard to get back into routine. We made it, though!
Sunday: We got up and got ready for church. We had a good church service. After church, we went to eat Mexican. We came home, and the girls had rest time. Keith worked out, and I made my normal Sunday grocery run. Once the girls got up, they played for a little while. Ava had to be at church at 5 to practice for the Christmas program. Keith took her to that. He brought her home at 6 and went back to church to help decorate it for Christmas. I coooked dinner and fed the girls. After we had eaten, I gave them baths and put them to bed. Keith got home shortly after they were in bed. I got ready everything ready for school that week and went to bed.
Monday: This was our first day back at school after Thanksgiving Break. It was a pretty uneventful, normal day at school. I was glad to see all of my students. We had a teachers' meeting after school, and that lasted a little longer than I had hoped. That's ok, though, because we rarely have extra meetings! We came home after school. The girls had some play time while I cooked dinner. After we ate, we gave the girls baths and put them to bed. I went to bed fairly early so I wouldn't be tired the next day!
Tuesday: We got up and got ready for school....Keith always gets the girls ready for school and I get myself ready....it is SUCH a big help, and I rarely feel over frazzled in the mornings! I dropped the girls off at their "school." Speaking of, my mother-in-law works at the daycare/preschool they go to, and I am so very thankful for that! She is always there when we get there in the mornings. She gets of at 2 and takes them home with here every afternoon. I just pick them up from her house....As I said, I am so thankful! Anyway, I dropped them off and went to school. Tuesdays are my P.E. days and I get a pretty long planning period after breakfast. I got a lot done during planning. We had a pretty good, productive day with the students. As soon as school was over, I rushed to Mrs. Joanne's house to get the girls so we could get home, and I could get Ava ready for dance. We got home and got Ava changed into her dance uniform. Keith came home to stay with Kate Rivers while I took Ava to dance. After dance, Ava and I came home, and we all ate dinner. We gave the girls baths and they had time for some play time. After a while, we put them to bed. We just hung out until time to go to bed.
Wednesday: I woke up a little later than I would have liked this day. I felt very rushed getting ready. Luckily, we made it right on time. This was another good day at school. Our morning went very well. After lunch, the first grade teachers met for grade level. We had a good meeting, and got our Christmas activities all planned out! After school, I went to pick up the girls so we could get home and get ready for church. Ava and Kate Rivers had to be there at 5:15. I had every intention of going, but I was so tired (especially after feeling rushed that morning), so I just stayed home. Keith brought the girls home after church, and then he left to go practice for the Community Christmas Contata. I got the girls ready for bed, and then I just hung out for a while. We ended up staying up later than I should have.
Thursday: I woke up late AGAIN....ugh...I think I just had trouble getting back into routine this week after being off for Thanksgiving. I don't know. Anyway, I felt rushed again, but we made it to school on time once again! Hooray! It was another good, uneventful day at school. After school, I picked up the girls and we came home. We had no plans that afternoon, so we all had a great afternoon/evening together! :)
Friday: Surprise, surprise...overslept AGAIN, but of course we made it on time! I love Fridays....it's so exciting knowing that we have a WHOLE weekend ahead of us. We had a great day at school, and got a lot accomplished. My kids were a little chatty this day, but that's nothing new. I left school about 15 minutes early so I could get the girls and we could get ready! Our town had their annual Christmas Tree Lighting/Parade that night, and the kids from church were singing in the Christmas Tree Lighting. Also, my high school was playing in the State Championship Football Game. My whole family was going to be there, and I was dying to go. So......Keith and Ava stayed in Carthage so she could sing, and Kate Rivers and I headed to Jackson to meet my family at Red Lobster for dinner before the game. After dinner, we headed to the game. Keith and Ava met us there. It was so much fun being with my whole family, and our team won! Yay! This is their 10th state title. We got home really late, so immediately put the girls to bed and then went to bed.
Saturday: This was a really lazy day. Keith let me sleep in. Once I got up, I took my time getting ready. I then made a grocery list...I had to do grocery shopping this day because we were going to be tied up all day Sunday. After that, we fixed the girls' lunch and ate lunch ourselves. After lunch, the girls went down for rest time. During that time, I went to the grocery store. I got home, and Ava was up. She helped me get the groceries out of the car. I then sat down and watched the SEC Championship game with Keith. Kate Rivers got up not too long after I got home. She and Ava had fun playing while we watched the game. We all went to pick up dinner at half time. We came back home to eat and finish the game. We let the girls rent a redbox movie. They watched most of the movie before it was time for baths and bed. Keith and I watched a movie after they went to bed. We went to bed not long after that.
This coming week seems like it is going to be busy too. It is always so busy around Christmas, but oh so fun!

Birmingham
This post will probably be somewhat boring since I have no pictures. I DID actually take pictures...I just haven't taken the time to upload them to the computer!
Anyway, last Friday we went to Birmingham to ride the Polar Express along with my sister and her family. We left from my parents' house about 11 Friday. We had a very uneventful trip and arrived in Birmingham between 3 and 4.
Once we got checked in at our hotel, we met my sister and her family for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I have never been to The Cheesecake Factory, but it is one of the places I have always wanted to go. It did not disappoint! It was very, very good! We had a great time. I even saw one of Keith's aunts there....ha! She also lives in the Jackson area, but she goes to Birmingham every year to do the Black Friday thing. It was fun to see her!
Immediately after dinner, we headed to the train stop. The train stop is in a small town about 20 minutes south of Birmingham. I did not realize it until we got there, but my sister got us the good tickets....we were in 1st Class. This meant that we had the comfy seats that face each other...yay! The girls were AMAZED to be riding a real train, and the employees were so nice! We sang Christmas Carols on the way to the "North Pole." It only took about 5 minutes to get there....I was honestly expecting it would take a little longer....like maybe 20ish minutes, but 5 minutes worked out fine. We arrived to the North Pole which was elaborately decorated with lights. They even had a workshop! We were greeted with waves by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and two elves. Another perk to being in 1st Class was that Santa actually came on the train with us to meet and greet. The elves came on first, and they were followed by Santa and Mrs. Claus....we got some really good pictures with all of the kids with them. I didn't know how my girls would react to them, but they really liked them! After the meet and greet, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves got off, and it was time to head back to the train station. We got yummy hot chocolate, muffins, and an ornament for the tree on the way back.
We really enjoyed the Polar Express. The kids had fun, but I don't think it will be a yearly tradition. I think it will be more like a one time thing.
We went back to the hotel and went to bed. The girls did well in the hotel. I was worried that it would be hard to get them to go to sleep, but it wasn't bad at all. I guess all of the activities wore them out. The only problem we had in the hotel was that they were a little loud. I just hope we didn't disturb anyone. :-/
The next morning we got up and took our time getting dressed and packed up. The Alabama/Auburn game was at 2:30 that day, and we wanted to avoid Tuscaloosa traffic, so we decided to go to The Galleria for lunch and a little shopping. Ummmm......my kids were AMAZED by an indoor mall. I guess that was Kate Rivers' first time in an indoor mall....the one we go to in Jackson is an outdoor mall. We have taken Ava before, but she was too young to remember it. They wanted to look at everything. And of course we had to let them ride the little rides they have!
We headed home after a while at the mall....unfortunately we were not successful in avoiding the football game traffic. All I can say is, "Wow!" Ole Miss games have traffic, but not nearly as bad as that! I really wanted to roll down my window and yell, "Roll Tide!" (I seriously think I would be an Alabama fan if I weren't an Ole Miss fan.)
All in all, we had a great trip. I can't wait for our next family trip! :)
By the way, I am pretty convinced I don't have any readers anymore since I went MIA for a while! If you are still around, leave me a little comment and let me know! I would love to know if anyone still reads!!! :) :)

Randomosity
*I am addicted to caramel lattes from McDonald's. I am really going to have to try to find a way to control this!
*We have had such a fun week at home. Even though I love my teaching job, I sure love being at home with my girls, too! The best of both worlds I guess....I am so blessed that I get so much time off with my job.
*I can't believe Ava starts Kindergarten in August. I know, I know....August is still NINE months away, but I know it will be here before I know it. Where did my baby go?? Time is flying! That's another post for another day, though.
*Since I mentioned Ava, I MUST mention Kate Rivers. She is TWO. It seems like I just had her! She is so fun and not afraid of anything. I am surprised she hasn't broken anything yet.
*We are going to Birmingham Friday, and I am starting to get giddy about it. We have been so busy that I really haven't had much time to think about it, but since it is getting closer, I am just so excited! I will have to do a post on it when we get back.
*I went shopping yesterday. When did stockings and stocking hangers become so expensive? They are not that bad for 1 of them, but when I have to buy 4, it's just expensive.
*We are going to Disney in May....saying I am pumped would be an understatement.
*Egg Bowl is SATURDAY! I am a huge Ole Miss fan, and I hope the Rebels will pull it out! :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow! Don't forget to take time out to thank God for all of your many blessings!

Hey Everyone!!!
Hello Everyone!
We are still here! I feel like so many things have changed since I last posted.....
We moved in June! Keith was ready to pastor his own church, and the Methodist church moved us to a great little town about 35-40 minutes away from where we were! We love our new town, but we also love the convenience of being close to the Jackson area. We are still in Jackson at least once a week. Keith probably goes more like 3 times a week because most of his hospital visits are there. Anyway, more about our town.....We really do love it here! Everyone is so nice and very community oriented. For Halloween, they have trick-or-treating on the town square. I was just looking at their Christmas schedule the other night, and they have so many fun things planned....I can't wait!
One of the best things about our move is that I was able to keep my job! I loved my time at home with my girls Kate Rivers' first year, but I decided to go back to work last year. I will probably continue to work if we have another baby because I couldn't ask for a better work situation. My principals are very family oriented, and it is NEVER a problem taking off for anything. My girls go to the preschool where my mother-in-law works. She gets off at 2 every day and takes them home with her.....I really have the most ideal situation to be working, and I seriously couldn't be any more thankful. It also doesn't hurt that I am teaching 1st grade which is my absolute fave!
In other news, we are getting soooo excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas! We have so many fun things planned. The day after Thanksgiving, we are going with my sister and her family to Birmingham to do the Polar Express ride! I think it will be a lot of fun!
Well, that's just a little peek at what's going on with us. I will try my hardest to do better with updating! I miss my blog!

Well Hello There!
Ok, I am determined to get this blog back up and going! We have been so busy lately, and I just haven't found the time to post. I don't even know how to cover what all we have been up to over the last TEN months, so I will just pick up where we are now!
We are doing great! Ava is 3 (4 in May). Kate Rivers is 18 months. They are growing like weeds and are soooo much fun! One of my main reasons for starting back up is to document the things they say and do! They will always say something that I tell myself I need to write down, and I NEVER do! I don't want to forget these precious moments so I am seriously going to do my best to keep this blog updated.
I do want to share a little story about Ava today. I went back to work in August (teaching 1st grade and actually loving it)! My mother-in-law brought Ava to me at school at about 2:30 today because I had somewhere to be right after school. My students come in from recess at 2:30 and we always have snack until time to go home. Ava was soooo excited to be at "big school." She came in and sat in an empty desk just like my students. She also had to get her backpack and put it by her desk since my students already had theirs at the desk. I was then passing out snack. I had everyone raise their hand if they didn't bring a snack. I look over and Ava had her hand raised too!! She pretty much took the role as one of my students today and did everything they did. She CRACKED me up! She was soooo excited to be at big school today. Just one example of stories I don't want to forget.
Kate Rivers is doing great too! She is something else!!! FULL of personality!
More to come soon! :) Glad to be back!
