Work, Work, Work

Oh my! Things have been super busy around here lately. I started school last week, but the kids came in today. It was a great day, and I could not ask for a better class! I am just SO tired, and I have really been missing Ava a lot during the day. It's really hard not being able to see her in the morning (since I have to leave so early), but we are slowly adjusting! Not too much else has been going on besides trying to get back in routine.

Ava has been learning and doing lots of fun things lately, and we just enjoy her so much! It's so fun to watch her learn new stuff, but I just can't believe how fast she is growing!

More updates later!

New Job!

Well, I finally got a job for the school year! I will be at an elementary school in the area teaching 4th grade. I am really excited about 4th grade. I taught this my first year as a teacher, and I really like the age! I met with the principal last week, and she seems to be a great, Christian woman.

I went up to the school today so get some paperwork checked and to see my room. I did not even know where to start in my room. It's a GREAT room. It just has SO much stuff in it, and it is all in the middle of the room with no organization at all! I would LOVE to get my room cleaned, organized, and decorated this week so I can take next week off. I actually start back next Friday, but I would like to at least have Monday-Thursday at home with Ava.

As excited and thankful that I am about this job, please keep us in yours prayers. It will definitely be a huge transition for our family since I have been at home with Ava for the past 15 months. It's bittersweet because I am going to miss her SO much during the day, but I am thankful to have a career that has really great hours! Pray that she will make the transition easily!

Ole Miss Ladies Football Forum

This past weekend, I went to the Ole Miss Ladies Football forum with Nancy (my sister-in-law) and Mary Jane (a friend). I LOVE Ole Miss, so we had sooo much fun with lots of good laughs! We spent the night Friday and went to the forum Saturday! We ate at Pearl Street Pasta Friday night (one of my favorite places)!

We had the opportunity to do lots of fun things at the forum Saturday. When we got there, we were able to meet Coach Nutt and have our picture taken with him. After that, we all got to run on to the football field like the players do on gameday. We toured the Indoor Practice facility where we went to the media room, the weight room, the equipment room, and the training room. They were all really cool, and it was neat to learn the routine of the football team on game weekends. That afternoon, we had a chance to meet with the offensive coaches, and we were able to listen to past Ole Miss players!!! I did not realize that we were going to get to meet the current football players, but we did, and they were all SO nice!

Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Pearl Street Pasta! Yummy!!!!

Nancy got to participate in the punt! (She is the one smiling)

Busy June!

Hey Everyone!
Just and update on what's been going on with the us! Nothing too big or exciting. We have been very busy, though!

-I am still job hunting. Praying something will come available very soon!

-I had to go to a wedding this past weekend in North Mississippi. For those of you who don't know, North Mississippi had HORRIBLE weather over the weekend. My poor friend's wedding was an outside wedding, and the weather started getting bad during the rehearsal. The had the rehearsal dinner at my groom's mother's house WITHOUT electricity! David told me that they had a "candlelight dinner"! The bride and her bridesmaids were supposed to stay at the house where the wedding was going to be held. They were unable to, though, because the house had no electricity. The next morning they went to the wedding site to find that there were TREES down EVERYWHERE!! They had a tree blocking the drive, and a tree fell over all of the chairs. There were also other trees down. David (the groom) thought there was no way they were going to be able to have the wedding outside, but they got everything cleaned up, and it was a beautiful wedding (even though the inside of the house was still withough electricity). I told David that it would be a GREAT story to tell their children one day! They were very good sports about it!
I headed back to Brandon after the wedding, and got caught in really big hail on the interstate! Very scary...I hate bad weather, so I freaked! I pulled under an overpass until it passed, and it was smooth sailing the rest of the way home!

-We had Ava's one year photos last Friday. I will post the link tomorrow. She was so good, and they turned out great! I think I have got it narrowed down to what we will choose.

-Keith's birthday was last Monday. He turned the big 3-0. Keith is a twin, so my sister-in-law, Nancy, and I were going to surprise Keith and Kevin by getting box seats at the Mississippi Braves' game and have a birthday party there, but they ended up going out of town so it didn't work out. We did have a great day, though! We went out to eat and had a lot of fun!

-We are having VBS at church this week, and let me just say it is exhausting!!! HOWEVER, it has been so much, and I am so glad I have been able to help. I have been taking Ava to the closing session each night, and she loves the music! :)

-Ava and I are going to the beach this weekend with my sister-in-law, Nancy! This will be Ava's first beach trip, so I will be sure to post pictures when we get back! :)

-Next weekend, I have another wedding. I am in this one, so it should be fun. It is at the same place as the one I went to this past weekend! Pray for good weather!!! :)

Well, I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I know this post is kind of boring without pictures, but I just wanted to update everyone what's been going on with us! Check back tomorrow for a link to Ava's pictures!
